Puppy Parties at Valley Vets
What is a puppy party?
The Valley Vets Puppy Parties are run by our experienced nurses and provide a safe and welcoming environment for your puppy to play and meet new friends. The playgroup also provides an opportunity for you, as their new owner, to ask us any questions you may have about raising your new pup.
Why is socialisation so important for a puppy?
All puppies have a sensitive period at the start of their lives, which only lasts until around fifteen weeks of age. During this time, they more readily accept new things and are therefore less likely to be scared of them in later life. Early socialisation is essential for your puppy to become a confident, well behaved and happy dog.
How much does it cost to attend a puppy party?
Our Puppy Parties are completely free of charge.
How often do they take place?
They are run on a weekly basis at our Caerphilly and Pentyrch branches.
When can my puppy start attending a puppy party?
Owners are invited to attend the two evening playgroups with their puppies, provided the pups have received their first vaccination.
Will I receive any information to support my puppy’s development?
Every owner will be given a puppy folder full of information, advice and useful training tips following their pup’s graduation from class.
How do I book my puppy into a party?
Please contact our Reception Team at your nearest branch to reserve a place, or for any further information.
What puppy party clients tell us:
“We recently registered our new Spoodle puppy Ozzy with Valley Vets, Pentyrch. At his initial check-up he was looked after by lovely vet Suzanne who had such a wonderful way with him and put him completely at ease.
We were also invited to bring him to a puppy party for socialisation. What a wonderful hour we spent with lovely veterinary nurses Nichi and Nadine who were super with the puppies. Such a great idea, the puppies had a fab time and we owners benefited from lots of good advice.
My friends are very envious of the service we have had from Valley Vets, they really do seem to be a cut above the rest and we are so pleased that we chose them to look after gorgeous Ozzy.”

“We just wanted to comment on the puppy parties that we attended with Ella, our Airedale pup, at Pentyrch. This is a fantastic idea and I hope you continue with this arrangement for other pups. It's a safe and fun way to socialise puppies at a time when it is difficult to get them out and about with other dogs on walks.
Ella thoroughly enjoyed them, loved the kongs and even having her teeth cleaned.
So good to chat with others too who are going through the same trials and tribulations with a new pup and an excellent opportunity to get expert, very friendly one to one advice about your pup.
Well done - keep it going, such a brill thing.”
